What each field does
| Field | Effect |
|---|---|
| How to reply to customers | The main field. Brief the AI like a new employee: the opener, what to ask, your prices, special cases. Any price written here may be quoted; without one the AI quotes nothing. |
| Work you don’t take | Jobs you don’t do and what to answer instead. The AI declines politely rather than offering them. |
| Never say (More settings) | Promises it must not make. Every reply is checked against this list; one that breaks it is held for you. If the check itself is unavailable, the reply goes out marked in the timeline for you to review. |
| Business hours (More settings) | Mentioned when a customer asks when you work. |
| Google Sheet (More settings) | Prices or FAQs the AI reads and quotes exactly as written. Share the sheet as “Anyone with the link — Viewer”. Updates are picked up within 30 minutes. |
| Calendar (More settings) | Google Calendar or Launch27. The AI only suggests an open time, always saying it will confirm — it never books anything. For Google Calendar paste the “Secret address in iCal format”: the AI sees only when you are busy, never event names. For Launch27 paste your booking address, like yourcompany.launch27.com: the AI sees your open booking windows. |
Start small
Begin with the opener and your prices — one rule per line. Read a few real conversations, then add what was missing. There is no separate list of services or service area: Thumbtack already sends only the leads that match them.
The "never say" list earns its keep
This is where you put the promises that cause arguments later: a firm price without seeing the job, a guaranteed arrival time, anything about what an insurer will approve. The list starts empty — fill it in yourself: the rule check can only hold back what is written here.
