Steps
- Sign up, then choose Connect Thumbtack. That is the whole setup.
- You are sent to Thumbtack to sign in and approve access.
- You come back to a one-minute Quick setup: how to reply, the phone customers may call, whether the AI keeps the conversation going. Its name and phone come from Thumbtack.
- Press “Save and activate” — or “Activate free trial” later, on the overview or on Sources. Until then the business is connected but the AI does not answer; your free trial starts at activation. Activating asks for a card, like any trial — nothing is charged during the trial, and you can cancel anytime.
- There is nothing to fill in. Your services, area and prices already live in your Thumbtack account, and Thumbtack only sends leads that match them; each lead carries the job, the address and the customer’s answers.
What the connection allows
Reading new leads and their messages, and sending replies in that conversation.
Two things are set up on your Thumbtack account so this works: a lead feed, so new leads and messages reach us the moment they arrive, and your business phone number, so calls and texts go through the platform.
We cannot change your listing, your budget or your reviews.
You can disconnect at any time from Sources. That removes the lead feed and the phone number we registered, and no new leads arrive. Existing leads stay in your dashboard.
If the Thumbtack account is not yours
On Sources, open “The Thumbtack account isn’t yours?” and create a link. Send it to the account owner: they approve on Thumbtack’s own page, with no sign-up here, and the account connects to your dashboard.
The link works once and expires in 7 days.
Several businesses on one account
Every business on the Thumbtack account is connected, and each one arrives switched off. On Sources each business has its own Activate, Quick setup and All settings — activate only the ones that should answer.
If the connection breaks
If Thumbtack stops accepting our connection, we email you and the dashboard shows a red notice. New leads may still appear in your dashboard, but the AI cannot answer them until you reconnect — answer those yourself. Press Reconnect on Sources: it is the same Thumbtack sign-in, and your leads and settings stay as they were.
If you disconnected the source yourself, leads that arrived in between never reach us, and Thumbtack does not resend them once you connect again. Check your Thumbtack inbox for that period.
Other platforms
Thumbtack and Google Local Services are available to everyone and connect in one click. Yelp is coming soon. When a page appears here for a platform, it works — we do not list platforms before they do.
